Sheesham wood is heavy, strong and almond color. The color of the external wood is lighter almond or brownish white than its interstitial. There is a possibility of insects in this part of the wood. Therefore, it is necessary to treat it with blue thoth, zinc chloride or other insect repellent chemicals.

The roundness of the trunk of 10-12 years old tree of rosewood is rounded to 135 cm for the trunk of 70-75 and 25-30 years old tree. Its cubic wood weighs from 22.5 to 24.5 kg. The wood obtained from Assam weighs a little over 19–20 kg per cubic foot.
